How to get programs to show up in the "Open With" Dropdown

I've reformatted my Mac to 10.10 with a new install of Parallels 10. I copied my trusty old WinXP virtual machine and it opens no problem, but if I right click on a file in the Mac Finder and hit Open With and try and use a Windows app (I mainly use this for Office files) it doesn't open.
I need to go into the Windows program and do File Open, or keep a shortcut to the Windows program on the dock, and drag the files there.

I actually just want to set my default Office files to open with the Windows programs, but the Mac OS doesn't seem to be picking up on the Windows Office programs I have installed.
Is there a way I can get my Mac OS to see the windows programs again? It used to work fine before I reformatted.
 
Figured it out in case it helps anyone:
The old Parallels install and virtual machine was on another partition and it was getting confused with the old programs.
Deleted all the old stuff and started working like a charm again
