how to get windows VPN to work

I have a Win 7 Pro VM and I'm trying to get a windows VPN client setup. I can see the VPN machine (I can ping the name plus it says it connects) but it won't allow verification of my username/password.

I found and article that says by default the VPN is shut off but when I try to run the command in this article it says that vzctl is not valid.

Anyone have an idea on what vzctl is or how I can run this command....or even better, how can I setup a VPN client inside my windows VM?

What about your case: what VPN client you are using? Could you please describe in more details what's going on?
 
Well....I think I might have gotten past this issue. A collegue found that you have to go to the Network adapter and choose Bridged - Ethernet.

Now what I'm having issue with is that I can't see my local network printer. I put my Windows VM into a WORKGROUP and normally on my PC in a WORKGROUP I can see/install a HP network printer but my Parallel VM can't see the printer. I'm wondering if there is some setting I need to change to have it look at a local network....like a 192.168.1.x address?

If I run an IPCONFIG /ALL in a command inside my windows VM it comes back as:
IP: 192.168.1.10
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
DHCP/Gateway: 192.168.1.1

So it looks like it's seeing inside the network but it still doesn't see the printer....yet my PC can.

I think I've finally got it. Setting the network adapter to Bridged - Ethernet allow for me to create a VPN. Then I ultimately determined that my Hub had a bad port so that is the reason I couldn't see the printer. Once I got a new cat5 cable on a different port I was able to get the printer to install.

Now I just need to figure out how to get my logitech and microsoft software to see my mouse and keyboard and I'll be set.
 
I guess you should consider taking another windows vpnconnection because vpn connection update tiem to time and if vpn proxies are coming in the restricted zone than you should think of changing it..
