I want to have a database running on windows and be able to access it from my mac (sql server).
Unfortunately, when I try to ping my VM by its windows name "philwinvm" it doesn't resolve. I have to put the host name/IP in my etc/hosts file.
This is fine, but when I switch locations my IP changes so I have to re-edit my /etc/host.
Is there a way to resolve my windows VM by name w/o messing with /etc/host?
