HP printer not available on Mac w/ Windows open

I have a MacBook Pro running 10.6.7 with Parallels 6. When I open up XP using Parallels I canprint from my HP Officejet 6210. With Windows open when I try to print to the same printer it states that I am offline on the Mac side.

When I quit XP/Parallels all of a sudden I can then print using the same printer on the Mac side.

Is it possible that I can print using my 6210 from my Mac side with XP open? If so, how?

Have you tried adjusting your networking settings?

Could be if the NIC is "Shared" between the Host OS (Mac) and Guest OS (XP) -
Go to:
Parallels Desktop Menu->View->Configure->Hardware->Network

Try different combinations of sharing the NIC, or giving the XP side it's own.

Also try configuring the printer port option (right below the Network tab on the left).

I'm still getting to know Parallel's but the more I try to help, the more I can learn as well so forgive me if this is not the solution.
