I can NOT adjust memory for my VM (Macintosh)

I can NOT adjust memory for my VM I have (Windows 7).

I right-click on either VM and select "Configure" (or click the Configure ICON), and the "Total Size" bar is full. There is NO sliding bar to adjust it.

As a direct result, I am unable to open "Win10_SingleLang_English_x64.iso" and install Windows 10 because it says "Insufficient memory".

Note: Windows 7 VM should shutdown before doing any changes.
Please follow the steps suggested below to resolve the issue.
1. Uninstall Parallels Desktop 10 using PD uninstaller as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/en/122653
2. Download latest build from: www.parallels.com/directdownload/pd10 ( http://kb.parallels.com/en/111603 )
3. Install it as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/en/122647 (Note: un installing and re installing Parallels Desktop will not effect your Virtual Machine)
4. Install Parallels Tools manually as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/en/112609 and check if the issue still persisting.

Reference: I have a iMac with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB internal hard drive.

I just noticed that the filled bar is set PRECISELY to the SIZE of the .pvm file.

Shouldn't there be a slider bar based on the 16GB of RAM?

So maybe I am not looking at the proper place for memory allocated to Windows.

Could you please let us know whether you are trying to increase Virtual Machine memory (RAM) or Virtual Machine hard disk space?
Please refer http://kb.parallels.com/122705 to know how much Virtual Machine memory (RAM) you can assign to your Virtual Machine.
Please refer http://kb.parallels.com/113972 to know how to increase Virtual Machine Hard disk space.
Please let me know if you have any other questions,

This posting was based on the fact that I was unable to open "Win10_SingleLang_English_x64.iso" and complete the free update to Windows 10 because it said "Insufficient space".

Therefore, I conclude that the answer to your question is "VM hard disk space". And thanks to your prompt reply, I changed it from the default value = 1 GB to 2 GB.

So ... I'll try again to update Windows 7 to Windows 10 ... and you can bet on the fact that I've cloned the .pvm file over to an external hard drive.

Ram ...

Here are the steps I took for a finally successful AND activated Windows 10.
*** cloned or copied my existing VMs to an external drive ***

(1) started up Parallels Desktop (version 10)
(2) clicked ONCE on the "Configure" icon of my existing Windows 7 VM, selected "Hardware" and then changed the default CPU & Memory from 1 GB to 5 GB (I'm maxed out on my iMac to 16 GB).
(3) started up Windows 7 VM
(4) dragged my recently downloaded "MediaCreationToolx64.exe" onto my Window 7 Desktop, double-clicked it and went away while the program:
(a) downloaded and verified Windows 10
(b) installed Windows 10 "over" Windows 7, "religiously" following the instructions in your http://kb.parallels.com/122884
(5) renamed my Windows 7 VM to Windows 10 (which it now was)
(6) copied my original Windows 7 VM back to my Users/Shared/Parallels directory/folder so Parallels Desktop could see both
(7) started up my Win 7 and my Win 10 VMs and all is well!! THANKS TO RAM!!!
Anyway, a million THANK YOUs for the finally successful AND activated Windows 10.

THANKS TO Ram!!!!!
