I need help!!

Hello everyone,

I need some serious help getting my Parallels info from my Macbook Pro.
Here is some info as to what happened.
I have a Macbook Pro with Parallels installed with Windows 7 Ultimate.
I have been using this setup for about 2 years now.
I had to get Parallels on my Macbook because I use Quickbooks accounting software as I own a employment agency
This morning my Macbook pro wouldn't start up. It just came up with the Apple logo along with the gear spinner.
I took my laptop to the genius bar at the apple store and they helped me try to backup some of the info but they said they were unable to backup the info that I really need which is my Quickbooks data.

Not sure what I should do now.

Macintosh HD->Users-> username-> Documents-> Parallels folder contains the file of your Virtual Machine (example Windows7.pvm)

Right-click on the appropriate .pvm file and choose Show package content.

Check the .hdd file size
- If size of the virtual machine decreased for instance from 20 GB to 2 GB - no data can be retrieved from this virtual hard drive as it has been erased after the crash.

- If size of .hdd file remained the same, please try to retrieve data:
1) Choose .hdd file > right click > open with Parallels Mounter. Virtual hard drive will be mounted on Finder.
2) Locate the files you need and copy them to the mac side.
If you mounted .hdd successfully you can create new VM and copy all data on it.
