When I restart Windows my icons get rearranged. This is driving me crazy. Can anyone out there help. I've searched thru other posts and there doesn't seem to be any answers. Help

Such situation can happen when you shutdown Windows incorrect, please try to arrang icons, shutdown Windows from Start-Shutdown, and check

Thanks for the reply. I know what you mean. Back when I was on a windows only computer this would happen if I shut down windows improperly. But with my imac and running Windows in the parallels environment, the icons get messed up when I shut down Windows properly. Whats interesting is if I do simply a restart from the start button, the icons stay put, but if I turn off Windows from the start button and then start Windows, the icons get messed up.

Well, I think from Parallels Desktop side it can be caused by fact that you are working in Window mode, and then either change size of Window or are going to Full Screen mode

I'm not understanding most of this. First I don't understand "operating in window mode" or "changing the size of the window". Here is how I operate and I think its pretty standard: I operate my imac for most normal computer needs. When I need to use a windows program I open parallels, windows starts up momentarily in a small window and then becomes a larger window (standard I think). I sometimes click alt enter to go to full screen mode and then sometimes return to the standard mode. When I shut down I do so in the standard manner by going to the start button and then click turn off. Is there something I am doing wrong?

This is what I mean, changing Window mode from small Window to Full screen - but this should affect only icons columns fitting not the problem if you set group of icons in special area.
As for link I gave, as far as I can see there are most of all possible cases why icons are keeping rearranged
