iMac Pro vs iMac

Hello,
My 2015 iMac is dead and I need to purchase a new one ASAP. I'm a programmer and spend around 70% on windows using Visual Studio, WebStorm and VS Code with Redis, SQL server, etc. I'm thinking to get maxed out iMac (i7, 4.2GHz, 1T SSD) or iMax Pro (10-Core Xeon W, 3.0GHz, 1T SSD). I understand that VS 2017 has some multi-processor build support https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/vi...ple-processors-to-build-projects?view=vs-2017
but I 'm not sure if I will be able to benefit from that. Can you please recommend ideal dev setup.

I have just bought a iMac pro as a tool to run my virtual labs that I use while working. After narrowly escaping being killed by my wife after she discovered the price II have come to love the machine. The high core count (18 core) allows me to run multiple VM's with no slowdown at all. I used to use a iMac 5k but the 4 core i7 made the machine feel slow when I had all my vm's humming along in the background.
