Imported My Boot Camp VM Question

Sorry for the newbie question, and I think I know the answer. But I just want to confirm.

I'm a recent Mac convert, using a Macbook Air. But of course I still need to use a PC for some stuff, esp. work. So I set up Boot camp with XP (what we use at work still). On the new MBAs, it was a tough time to get XP installed since only Win7 is officially supported, but I got it all set up and everything working.

But the new Boot camp requires a minimum Windows partition of 20GB. When you only have a 64GB SSD, 20GB is alot. And I don't need that much for what I'm doing.

So, I see that Parallels lets you either use the Boot Camp partition as a VM directly (which it set up by itself and called "My Boot Camp". But I also imported the BC image into an "Imported My Boot Camp" VM, which seems to be working great also.

I was wondering if I just use this, can I delete my Boot Camp partition altogether, reclaim the 20GB and just use the new IMported VM with say 10GB allocated?

I think the answer is yes, and this is a feature Parallels offers and VMWare doesn't. But I just want to confirm before I delete it since it was a pain to get it to work with XP. (I did back up the boot camp partition using WinClone just in case).

Normally I would never bump threads, but I'm hoping to get an answer to this during the trial period so I can factor that into my purchase decision. I would think its a simple/common question? Please, does anyone have an answer?

What's the difference between "My Boot Camp" and "Imported My Boot Camp"?

This is a confusing differentiation & both seem to be created by default when you set up a VM using the Boot Camp partition.

There must be a less confusing approach available here...
