Install issue.

Hi all,

I've recently downloaded the 2X Application server to see if it is a suitable solution for our small company. I've limited experience with 2003 server and none with TS, so you'll have to bear with me

I've installed the TS functionality of 2003 server and activated it, I've then installed the 2X Application server. I've configured a application I want to run and then managed to browse the farm via the client on another machine. I run the application and it invites me to enter a username and password which I do, shortly afterward I get an error box stating....

The Client could not access the remote application.
Terminal Server might be to busy to accept the new connections or network problems are preventing your connection.
Please try connecting again later.

I'm uncertain how to go about finding the fault at this point, could any one give me some pointers as to what I should be checking?

From the 2x Console check the status information and check for any errors.

That seems to be Ok?

I will do these things:
1. Try accessing the application again
2. Check whether the cables are properly connected in the proper ports
3. Go to the terminal services configuration->connections->click Rdp-tcp->right click->select all tasks

What do you see there?

If enable connection is an option, the connection is currently disabled. Enable it and access the application again.

Hi

I've tried accessing the application again, still no joy. All cables and such are connected, this server is used to publish a small Wiki for the IT dept and that's still workign fine across the LAN/WAN.

Under all tasks I see...

Disable connection
Rename connection

I've added further applications to the server, these appear on the client end, but still won't allow me to run them.

Any ideas?

Hi Matt,
So you mean the small wiki is working fine but other applications are not, is that right?
Are you using the 2X Web portal or the 2X AppSrvClient?
It sounds like you are using the web portal.

How about using a IP address instead of server name. Give it a try.

Hiya Tom, I've just done some tweaking I appears to be working. As usual its one of those scenarios where you change a few things and now I'm not sure what I did that made it work! :lol:

I'm probably going to uninstall it and do a clean install and make a note of the settings one by one.

Yeah Matt,
I understand what you're saying. IT resolution takes too many clicks for a problem. ha ha...
But I have seen some people having the same problem, especially while accessing apps from the portal.
