    Hey gang-

Purchased the upgrade today from Parallels 3 to Parallels 6. I followed the instructions in the KB article
http://kb.parallels.com/en/8924 that says to Uninstall Parallels Tools and any Anti-virus program before upgrading. So far so good.

I then ran the Parallels 6 Installer. During Step 2 of the upgrade of my Virtual Machine, the installer stopped and said "you must switch to Manual mode for the upgrade to proceed". It then linked me to this page:
    http://www.parallels.com/support/desktop/upgrade/pdfm/

That page then links you to the troubleshooting wizard here:
    http://www.parallels.com/support/free/troubleshooter/categories/?id=731

But no matter what option you click on, there is NO guidance on how to proceed "manually" or even what they are talking about. I am totally stuck and no idea what to do from here.

My VM is running Win XP SP II if that makes any difference, and I'm running an Intel iMac running Leopard 10.5.8.

    Thanks!

    Hey gang-

    Answering my own post...

I found the reference...basically it means Parallels needs you to help it navigate to the Windows Desktop. It may be because Windows is waiting for your login password, or because it needs you to specify which account to log into. Here is a refererence. Hope this helps another user!
