installing on multiple profiles

i just installed parallels and windows XP on one of my profiles but it dosn't show up on the other one.

I did a regular install, no changes from the defoults.

What's the best way to have this program spill over to my other profiles?
There's not a lot of info on this, especially the manual so from the reading I've done I need to uninstall and install into the shared foled. Does this sound right or is there other options?

Also how do the windos profiles work under the Parallels system? Will I stil be able to have multi-profiles under windows?

I went to this knowledgebase article and did as recommended.

After moving the parallels folder from documents to the shared folder, I amended in the Get Info window as recommended, enabling other users to read and write.

In the other user account, launching parallels again brought up the install vm dialog. So, as recommended, I tried launching the .pvs file. A dialog came up saying that the winxp.hdd file was unable to be found or was corrupted.

Any suggestions? Might opening a Get Info window for all the files in the VM folder and amending to allow read and write be helpful?

The Get Info idea I mentioned above wasn't worthwhile. All the files showed already that others could read & write.

In my primary user account, now when launching parallels and winxp, a dialog comes up saying that the file 'unattended.fpp' couldn't be found, but parallels allowed me to open winxp anyway.

I thought I'd replace the parallels folder back into the documents folder, but a new parallels folder was there. However, that new parallels folder was empty of files that are visible in Finder.

So, again might there be any ideas? The main reason I installed parallels and winxp is so my wife can access her old standby apps from windows.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated so that SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED doesn't think all this a waste of time and money.

Hope I'm not considered to be hijacking this thread. If an administrator feels my posting questions in this thread isn't appropriate, I'd be happy to begin a new one.

Would doing a 'custom install' be helpful? I'm wondering if it'd be possible to custom place new, refreshed files of winxp.hdd and unattended.fpp in the appropriate folder of the shared folder for the VM.
 
I fixed mine by changing the permission group from "admin" to "wheel" & choosing apply to enclosed items.

Now all my users can load it fine!!!

This is a screenshot of my info window for parallels. Does it look like yours? I believe if you click on the thumbnail, it'll take you to a larger image.
 
I was able to get past this error.

I was getting the same error about the corrupt winxp.hdd file, trying to run from another (non admin user - not that this matters), and this is hat I did (in addition to the steps in the KB article):

I went back to my admin account (the one that I used to install the Xp vm), and with the finder right clicked the WinXp.hdd file (that I had moved to the shared folder under users). I selected "Show package contents" (not sure of the excat spelling in english, its "Mostrar conteudo do Pacote" in portuguese), and that opened the individual contents in another finder window (there were 2 files, a disk descriptor xml file and another data file). for each file, get info and change the other permissions to read/write (form some reason they did not get changed when following the KB instructions). I then logged off my admin accound, went back to my non admin account and was able to run the Xp VM - and still had 10 minutes to play before my 15 day free trial expired - I now must buy a serial number...
