Trouble Installing windows 7 with Parallels desktop 7

Hi

I am having problems getting my Macbook to read the windows 7 installer DVD.

The Macbook is saying its a blank DVD.

I have installed Parallels 7 on a macbook pro with OS 10.6.8 I have 8gb of ram

I have tested the DVD drive with other cd's/dvds and it works fine

I have also attempted to copy the dvd to a flash drive the mac will still not read the files.

Any ideas???

It doesn't matter how the Mac sees the disk (though it should mount it; check your Mac CDs & DVDs preferences). What happens when you try to create a new VM in Parallels? Does it read it?
