Installing windows programs

I have Parallels installed and running great. I am now going to install some of my most used windows programs.

If I want to install the programs using windows on bootcamp...do I shut down, suspend or leave running the parallels virtual machine.

or is it better to install the windows programs through the parallels vm

Hello Randy, please be informed it does not make any difference how to install applications to your Windows. You can do it both via Parallels VM and Bootcamp partition.
 
One more question though

If I install programs using windows on the boot camp partition, do I suspend or shut down the parallels vm
