Installing Windows XP

Greetings,

I have installed Parallels on my MBpro. I am in the process of installing Windows XP. At this point, I am being asked to agree or disagree to the licensing policy. I am being asked to push "F8=I" to agree. I have been stuck at this point for 6 hours. I cannot get the F8-I keys to work, assuming that I'm supposed to push all three.

I would appreciate any help that I can get

Oh? Is it not just F8? When I installed Windows XP on PCs every time I just press F8 to agree to the policy.

I encountered the same problem when I tried to install XP last week. I couldn't press F8 to make it work neither. Thought it was the problem of the CD and I exchanged it for a new XP CD from the store the next day. However, I couldn't install the XP by clicking right forward button anymore, as the hard disk had been created as per Alex from parallel's support.

Alex gave me a list of instructions (below for your reference if you need it), but none of them seem to work for me so far.

installation of the XP drivers).

I've been working on this problem for over a week, but still haven't installed XP successfully. Getting really frustrated.

Another question, if I uninstall parallel desktop and reinstall it again by downloading it from the website, will that give me a clean slate and start from scratch?

Would appreciate it greatly if anyone can give me a solution.

Function key did the trick

I had this exact same problem when I tried to install an oem version of windows xp. I read in the user manual that oem operating systems are not supported - wish I knew that before shelling out $100. If you are trying to install an oem version of windows xp, the problem you are having may be related - but I doubt it.

I abandoned my atempt to install the oem version and moved on to full version, where I encountered the same problem. Fortunately, I had read murphy's post about holding down the function key while hitting f8. This did the trick!

Moral of the story:

Hold down the function key while hitting f8.
