Internet Explorer Crashing??

Hi, I installed Windows XP SP2 and my internet explorer keeps crashing i started out with version 6 and it kept crashing getting the "Internet Explorer needs to close" something like that. I'm running it on a new Macbook Pro 10.5.4. Then i went on to install SP3 and even with all the updates Internet Explorer 7 keeps crashing. If you can tell me what to do to resolve this issue that would be great thanks.
 
I have installed the Kaspersky internet security and updated it and ran all the tests and everything came back fine. Still when i start internet explorer after maybe a minute the error pops up saying internet explorer needs to close. any suggestions?
 
As Microsoft claims, there is no guarantee, that any antivirus can reveal all viruses, if system infected, and the recommended solution from Microsoft is to reinstall OS :)

anyway, I suggest you to backup VM, and perform system repair
