internet problem...PLEASE HELP...n00b here!

hi
i just installed parallels on my imac 2 days ago and its an amazing software
however i am not able to browse the net in my xp installation in parallels.
i have tried all the different methods of connection but it didnt work
i stay at a university and i am given ONLY ONE STATIC IP address...is there any way to share the bandwidth on this IP with both my mac and xp OS??
any kind of help would be appreciated

If your Parallels build is not at least 1970, you need to upgrade. Then select shared networking mode and if OSX connects, your VM should.
