Is it possible to configure a macOS guest hardware before installing it?

I'm having problems installing macOS guests (using Sierra and Parallels 12). I get hangs during installation. I'd like to increase the RAM available to the VM from 2Gb to 4 or 6. But, I can't see how I can do this before the installation starts.

    Is it possible?

Yes it is, Under Parallels desktop Select file>new>Install Windows or another OS from a DVD or image file>OS X found 2016-12-02 06.35.31 am.jpg
    >continue>At this point you will be asked about creating a bootable disk image>continue>

Click on customize settings before installation>continue>

I'm afraid the Sierra VM remained unstable, so I ended up moving to Fusion which solved it.
