I am running Parallels build 5.0.9344 on an iMac, Snow Leopard (2 weeks old). Guest OS is XP SP2. I am trying to get the iSight camera driver to load in XP and get recognized. I am not having any luck.
I assign the camera to XP (Parallels, Devices, USB, Apple Built-In iSight). Windows pops-up a window stating a new device was installed and starts the driver wizard. I inserted my Snow Leopard DVD, goto Boot Camp, Drivers, Apple, and double-clicked on AppleISightInstaller.exe. The installer runs and states it has installed the driver successfully. I then let windows search for the driver, and it just states "Cannot install this Hardware. The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software.".
Upon reading someone else's suggestion, I renamed the .EXE file to a RAR file and manually extracted all of the files to a folder. I then restarted the New Hardware wizard and instead of letting it search for the driver, I pointed the wizard to the folder I manually extracted the drivers to. Same thing - it just tells me it can't find a driver. The isight.inf file is there, but windows is not matching the driver with the hardware.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Extremely frustrating...
