Issues with shared vs bridged network

Running parallels 16 on MacOS Catallina.
Before I was able to switch between shared (nat) and bridged mode. This was handy when working on a VPN to work as I could test things both on and off the VPN.
Recently, I can no longer pull an IP address on bridged mode when this worked fine prior. I opened a case with support and they're telling me they do not support bridged mode which seems odd.
Has anyone else had issues with this?
 
@BrentA4 Please be informed that when selecting Bridged network mode, Parallels Desktop is no longer responsible for any network connectivity issues. Please refer the article for more information.
