We are having an issue when you attempt to connect via 2x client you are able to see the published apps but when you attempt to connect to an app it says it can not fian a terminl server. So when looking in the console I found that un the connectin seetings the RDP setting is grayed out. Has anyone made this work on a Terminal Server 2008
Hi Tom, 2X Application Server works with win 2008. Make sure that the 2X Terminal Server Agent is installed and responding (Check the status page in the console). If you are using the 2X Client you do not need to enable the RDP port. Please note that with 2008 you need to publish memshell, take a lookat:http://2x.helpserve.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=35 Nixu
that link doesn't work, what was the content of that article about memshell I'm also having this problem with server 2003. Applications publish, but loading the application fails
Hi, What is the Agent State. You can see it by going to : 2X Console-> Farm->Terminal Servers. For win server 2008, are you getting any internal error message? Tom
Known problem See this thread. http://www.2x.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2123&highlight=2008 The problem only happens after TS licensing is enabled, and I know of no known fix at this time. I think we're just waiting on 2x for an update.
Hi Guys, Just wanted to be more clear.... Since win 2008 was not officially out before the release of 2X AS v6, 2X Application Server might not work 100%, BUT it should work... In Win 2008 there is a missing registry key that AS is looking for. Add the following: Location:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server DWORD: TSEnabled = 1 Nixu
IMHO, there's no need to use 2x on windows 2008, 'cos the latest MS product is able to publish applications for itself. Though if you really need universal printers... Am i wrong?
If you are happy with 2008's Publishing applications and LB well and good.. BUT 2X application server has got load of other features..... Nixu
In order to use W2k8 published apps you have to use RDP 6.1 which is availible only to Vista SP1 (crap) or Windows XP SP3 (search the news groups about problems upgrading to SP3)
