Using Office (windows - Excel, Word, Powerpoint) on my Mac thru Parallels for now many years with great satisfaction, I recently observed that my numerical keyboard has now a foolish attitude when used under the W10 partition (=/*-+Enter work well, but 0 to 9 produce erratic results). I've verified : - the hardware is OK : everything is well under MacOS; - all W10 applications are concerned (not an EXCEL parameter ... !); - Parallels version is up to date (#15). I suspect that a recent W10 update introduced the bug. Do anybody have the same problem ? Could please somebody help me ? PS : please excuse my poor english : I'm a French native...
I've visited the Knowledge Base and found : Parallels client for MacOS improperly using numpad on specific keyboard Article: 124146 which describes exactly the symptoms I've observed (4 becomes left arrow, 5 becomes =, 6 right arrow, etc.). Unfortunately, the proposed solution (default numlock in Terminal) does'nt help in my case. Any idea ?
Hello TGN_. Please start the virtual machine, select Devices (from the Mac menu bar) -> Keyboard and make sure 'Numlock' option is checked. Then check whether you are able to use the keys from the Numpad.
Thanks to Parallels support (John Silvester), problem solved !!! Moreover, they gave me the knowlege base right article, which fixes the issue : https://kb.parallels.com/113652 Be careful : it looks like a simple W10 update could reset these parameters. Thanks to all who tried to help !
