If you've installed it under Parallels, just delete the VM folder (the one with the .pvs and .hdd files in it).

Being this is my first imac , i did install win xp following installation of parallels desktop and I have no idea where to find the VM folder, any help would be appreciated. I will continue to search for the VM folder.

It's in ~/Library/Parallels.

1) Click on the Finder icon in Dock (bottom row of icons, leftmost icon)
2) From the Go menu, select Home
3) Go insider Library
4) Select Parallels
5) From the File menu, select Move to Trash
6) From the Finder menu, select Empty Trash…

It will most likely be in /Users/*username*/Documents/Parallels

Replace *username* with your Mac OS X username.

Or at least that's where it is for me.

Yes, that's what the ~ stands for; it's a shortcut for /Users/(you)
