I have installed Joomla 1.5 on VISPA server.
I am having problems installing modules and components using Jinstaller or any other method.
These appear to be permissions problems, even though I have CHMOD to 777 all the required folders.
Jinstaller seems to create empty working folders sometimes too.
Here is a typical error message when I install JCE:
* It was not possible to copy the selected file.
* JInstaller::install: Failed to copy file: /var/www/vhosts/balcombevillage.co.uk/httpdocs/joomla/tmp/install_4cc02a31e78f3/plg_jce_1575/jce/.project to /var/www/vhosts/balcombevillage.co.uk/httpdocs/joomla/plugins/editors/jce/.project
* It was not possible to copy the selected file.
* JInstaller::install: Failed to copy file: /var/www/vhosts/balcombevillage.co.uk/httpdocs/joomla/tmp/install_4cc02a3152262/jce.xml to /var/www/vhosts/balcombevillage.co.uk/httpdocs/joomla/administrator/components/com_jce/jce.xml
* Component Install: Could not copy setup file
VISPA support referred me here as they are unable to solve the problem.
I am about to abandon setting up Joomla on their Plesk server.

PS I've just started a new Joomla installation and was able to install JCE immediately. Something must have gotten corrupted in the first one.
