just upgraded to Parallels 8 and my VM can't boot!

I just upgraded to Parallels 8, and I went to resize my VM HDD and bam! Suddenly it fails to boot and it says the HDD is corrupted...

I was using Win XP on Parallels 7 just fine until this upgrade!! What now?? I tried the "prl_disk_tool check --hdd" terminal command and got this error:

Operation progress 13520 %
An error occurred during the operation: internal error (0xffffffff80000001)

What the-- 13520 %??

Help me please, I can't risk losing my Win XP HDD -- too much work at stake here!!
