KVM - USB question

I've done a search for KVM but don't see any reference or answer to the following situation.

I use a KVM switch to control 3 Macs. One (an Intel Mac Pro) is running Parallels and WinXP.

Each time I change the KVM to the Intel Mac Pro when Parallels is running I get 4 dialog boxes in a row asking if I want to add USB devices to Parallels control. I answer NO to all 4 and continue working.

Is there any way Parallels can be told to completly IGNORE (or remember NO) to each of these KVM device questions?

I get this same error with my KVM switch. Was a solution ever found for this?

I also find that if I have several mac spaces, and apps open in different spaces I can run into a case where I can't even click on the dialog in Parallels (coherence mode). Everything is then greyed in the menu bar (cause the dialog is modal), and I am forced to 'force quit' parallels.

Fix for this would be great.....

Btw...here is a screenshot of the error that pops up (twice each time I switch back to the Parallels machine).

As the original poster stated, I click 'no' to both dialogs and it works fine. But as I said, I have gotten in a state where I can't click on the dialog box.

I'm having the same issue. This is on a 2008 Mac Pro using a Belkin Flip (KVM)

Only started happening since I changed the setting in configuration editor USB controller/connection options to "connect to Guest OS" from "connect to Mac OS X"

I did this as the back ports on the Mac Pro don't seem to be recognized by Windows otherwise. Apart from the HP scanner that is. The rear ports work ok for Mac devices though so that's not the issue. Only Windows/Parallels.

The front ports work both in Windows & Mac irrespective of the settings.
So is it Parallels or the Mac that treats the rear and front ports differently?

What's needed I think is a way to remove or disable in devices/USB (in my case the Belkin Flip) so Windows/Paralells doesn't know it exists. Maybe that can be done now but I don't know how.

Wanting to connect Windows only devices (USB to Serial & Parallel converter cables) on the rear ports without this annoying message coming up all the time.

Any fix known?

I have the same issue also since installing 5608. Never had the problem before running a MacBook Pro thru a ioGear Miniview KVM.
 
We know this problem, and we are going to add feature in Parallels Desktop ver 4 , or in one of the next Parallels Desktop version 3 builds, to remember every USB device assignment either to Mac OS or to particular VM
 
YEAH! ... and what is worse, the dialogs come up with the "YES" option highlighted, so if you accidently hit the <enter> key for some reason, the keyboard or mouse gets attached to the VM, then NOTHING works except the power button.

Is there ever a case where a USB keyboard or mouse should be allowed to be passed through to the VM OS instead of the MAC OS, or should they just disable keyboards and mice from attaching to the guest os?
