I've tried this with all three of my VMs that were backed up from an earlier version of Parallels. All of them fail on the installation of Parallels Tools.
    What now?

(Prior to using Parallels, initially, I used Fusion (2009). I forget why I migrated to Parallels (2012-ish?). I have tried a recent - 2016 - version of Fusion. What an experience that was. there is not a word to describe how slow the VM ran. So Fusion is not an option. If I had all my install CDs for OS and apps, I would do a fresh install but the CDs are in storage on the other end of the country.)

Hey Parallels folk.... Is there any way of moving forward on this? It was supposed to be a no-brainer to use the VM from an earlier version in V.11, wasn't it? Are you able to provide a copy of, say, V.9 (?) to see is that would work as an intermediate step? (i.e. open the VM, hopefully in V.9, save it, and then upgrade to V.11).

    This is frustrating.
