    Hello,

We have some classroom that require dedicated music or creative arts software. A fully imaged machine can be between 80 to 105GB in total.

Would folks think it better to just have specific images for such machines, or is it better to inject the software via Task Sequence after installing the base OS?

Are there any maximum /practical limits to such methods? We have either a gig or ten gig to each machine.

    Thank you.

    David.

    Hi David,

The rule of thumb is to have a minimal size image to speed up the imaging process.
I'd recommend to install the required software using Task Sequences, rather having it in the monolithic image. This way you will be able to modify the set of your preferred software titles at any time, without rebuilding your images.

By the way, there are 2 ways for using Task Sequences in PMM now:
    - one is executing when applying OS image, which you mentioned
    - one is so-called non-OSD, when Mac is already imaged and being managed by PMM. Such task sequences are visible in Parallels Application Portal, among the applications.

    Timofey.

    Hi, Timofey

The latter sounds like the way forward - thank you for (all three) of your replies.
