Launchpad locks up

I have a OS X Mountain Lion guest running under Parallels 8 on a 2012 15" MacBook Pro. When I launch the LaunchPad in the guest VM, it takes a very long time to show up, sometimes 15 to 30 sec, sometimes it even locks up for several minutes.

Has anyone experienced the same problem? Is there anything I can do to fix it?
 
Yes that was in Parallels Desktop 7 and still not fixed in PD8
Launchpad is extremely slow even on a bit older Mac models, but in Parallels Desktop it just unusable. It's a shame they fixed nothing in PD8
