LEGACY 2XUP NO DUPLEX / ERROR HANDLING

Hi everyone.

I been trying to "research" about the 2X Universal Printer on Duplex mode inside the forum but i just cant find a single answer... this is frustrating I have to say, but I hope that any of you can point me into the right direction, forum post, blog post, answer, etc. to fix this because its driving us nuts !!


Anyway, lets get to the point...

Problem: Unable to print any document in 2 sides of a single sheet, A.K.A. as duplex failure. OPTIONS button is disabled clientside regardless of what I try server side.

I just checked the document sent to the printer, even when you set your local printer to double side for every document 2x will send the "default printer configuration" to the local printer so it will deactivate duplex.

Answer: None so far.

Problem[2]: Documents get piled up in legacy printer every time when a client gets an error printing, canceling the first stuck document will lead to the next document to get an error as well... canceling all documents on 2XUP is the only way to set the printer free.

Now a bit info about our setup:

-Gateway OS: Windows Server 2003 Ent.
-Gateway 2X: Version 10.1 build 1263

-Terminal Server OS: Windows 2008 SE WOW 64 SP1

-Client OS: Windows 7 Ultimate WOW64
-Client 2x: Version 10.1 build 1275 64bit

Hi there,

1. Duplex mode is not working in Legacy mode, so you must to use normal mode to make this working.
2. From what application you are printing? Is it a RAW format? If yes, it will be fixed soon.
 
Hi hi Rozenberg, thanks for the answer.

We are printing from a Dataflex app that we have developed... the app uses crystal reports XI to build reports and print them, the print format is EMF for everyone but the duplex users. Our temporary fix is to print those files in PDF so the local printer can enable duplex on them.

Seems that we will be working like this for quiet a bit untill they release the fix... or the new build for ASXG.

Ok, I got the error from windows log which says:

I will try to use EMF 1.007 and lower to check if the handling error is related, although it sounds more like a "driver" problem. Maybe I will roll back to V9 or something to regain stability...

I'll keep "researching" and report back in a few days...
