Limiting concurrent users of specific apps?

Hi There,

I am trialing Application Server at the moment, one feature I cant find is the ability to limit concurrent users to an individual application.

For example we have a 10 user licence for Visio, and I would like to install this on the application server and then limit it so that only 10 people can use it at any one time. Doing so would mean everyone has access, but only 10 can use it as to not breach our licence.

Is this a possiblity?

I am very interested in this topic. We have limited licenses and also need to control how many users can access an app.

SCENARIO

Contractors share a domain account to access a specific app and we must limit the number of sessions to that app to 5 sessions.

This would be a great feature!

 

Also interested, same problem of licence limitation. I've a software with concurent user licence and I want to limit usage on the 2x app.

 

This feature is somewhere in the pipeline.

Trialing the system at the moment and the fact that this is not available is really something that will mean I look elsewhere.

Just got done installing my 6 server license and i am, toghether with my users, very happy with this application.
However this feature is the last step for my 2X dream, any developers out there that can shed some light on this topic?

Currently one can limit an application to be launched once per session.
Version 6 has application auditing so one can check how many times an application has been launched etc..

The feature you are asking for might come out in version 6.1 but there is nothing confirmed to this..
(So please do not quote me....)

Hi, I am kicking this topic up again.
I a using 2X Application server v6.1 with client v6.1.
The limit concurrent application use seems to be a new feature with v6.1,
but it does not work 100%.

At the Advanced Settings of the published application, I have changed the concurrent licenses from Unlimited to 1 with the option to warn user without start of the program.

When I start the application at 2 PCs (at the same time), both instances start.
It doesn't matter if I use the same or 2 diffirent accounts.
(1 time I did get a message that server ditn't allow more user, but I can NOT reproduce it anymore).

Am I doing something wrong?

I also have many situations that the concurrent licenses feature would be great for.. however I set it to 1 and still multiple people can access the app.

No soup for me... anyone have a fix...
