2x ApplicationServer & LoadBalancer v6.2 (build 512) 2x ApplicationServer Client v6.2 (build 512) I have an issue with local file associations and MS Word 2k7. It seems that 2x correctly opens a Word 2k7 document but the file name does not appear correctly in the title bar area of Word 2k7. No matter what document is opened the default of “Document2.docx” or “Document2.doc” ends up as the document name. I believe I have the associations set correctly on the server. I have tried both /f %1 and /f “%1” and both behave the same. This is NOT a problem with Excel 2k7, Power Point 2k7, Visio 2k7, or Project 2k7 all of these applications open and display the file name correctly in the title bar. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
i checked it out and result was correct... even asked a friend same thing i guess your word is not doing the correct thing... try the following 1. open a desktop session (ensure drive redir is on) 2. open word 3. open file \\tsclient\c\your local filename here and check the title. this is exactly what the 2x is doing let me know the results
When I do as you instructed the document opens with the correct file name displayed in the title bar. When I double click the same file going through "My Computer" on the local machine the document opens but the filename is displayed as "Document1.doc or Document1.docx" depending on the extension of the document opened. Like I said in my original post Excel, Power Point, Visio, & Project all work correctly. This is only happening with Word. It's strange that the correct document opens in Word but the file name is not displayed correctly in the title bar. Something is not getting correctly passed to Word. Do I have something incorrect on the server for the file associations? Currently I have /f "%1" in my Application Advanced Settings. I have tried it without the "" and have the same result. My client settings have to be correct or the other apps would not work correctly like they do.
all seem correct, i suggest you delete and republish word to ensure the correct settings are set. I saw no similar posts on google
I set up a test server and only published Word. Same results. So I went into the Application Advanced Settings and changed the file associations from /f "%1" to just "%1" which seems to solve the problem. Word opens up the document and displays the document name correctly in the title bar. I'm not sure why the /f is causing a problem as the thread below clearly states that the option should be /f %1. http://www.2x.com/forums/viewtopic.php? ... local+file
might be different version or service packs. This clearly is all dependent on Word itselfand not on 2X.
