    Hi Guys

We have been running 2x ApplicationServer Loadbalancer for about a year now - great technology !!

We run 2 load balanced servers and have almost no issues.

However, we have had a about a dozen new client installs recently [Windows Client v7.3.727 (.msi) from the 2x web site] and all of these new users report 2x printing now just prints blank pages on emf, bmp and pdf.

Our existing users (on older versions are fine)

We are running Application Server Loadbalancer version 6.2 Build 528 on the servers and and have not not touched the servers.

Some of you may remember, 2x printing went through a bad period with blank pages and memory leaks etc but since it was fixed, it has been really reliable.

If this is a bug, please could it be fixed asap or if these is a non-obvious setting, where is it?

    Thanks in advance

We have the exact problems here.

    2X Application Server 7.1 (660)

With the Client 7.3 (727) we only can print Blank Pages. This ist verified on different printers.
    Client 7.1 (660) woks fine.

If this helps you... I was running SERVER 6.2 and tried connecting in with 7.3 Clients - big mistake. Could not print. Downgrading client to 6.xx solved the issue.

Crappy thing.. we bought insurance and upgraded to 7.3.. now printers are dead and have no idea how to fix :(

You may restore your system simply by disconnecting all users ( make sure no users are logged in )
uninstall 2x AS and reboot ( make sure all connections severed ).

    Re-install 7.1.660 version ( available at http://www.2x.com/downloads/AppServer-L ... lancer.msi ) your settings should be restored.
If settings not restored. use File --> Import Settings. and load your settings file.

Thanks... I have 95 users right now that are randomly having issues. I cannot do this until late tonight. 7.3.727 was the latest build on the 2x website; We never had 7.1 - went from 6.2. I will try that tonight although I am really irritated b/c we just renewed our maintenance - a heavy fee - and are far worse off than we would have been on 6.2.

Looks like I was able to solve the issue. There were several iterations of the problem/solution before I reached this, so no guarantee this is the complete process -- but here we go:

    • Stop Agent on affected server.
Delete 2X folder. If errors, locate the files in use, kill using TaskMgr, and then delete.
Delete 2X registry key under HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services
      Reboot Server
Delete Printer Port [XX] from Printer Server properties.
Delete 2x Driver from Print Server Drivers.
      Reboot Server.
Disable all Anti-Virus (We had TrendMicro)
Run the 2XVDS.MSI installer. CUSTOM install only the Terminal Server Agent.
      Finish Install.
      Reboot server.
      Check LoadBalancer/Gateway for connection
      Test printer.

It was not that clean - we had various issues in the process. Took us a while to get the process down. But this combination of steps did resolve the issue - perhaps not all were needed. I would urge disabeling all AV. Ultimately we knew the driver did not install correctly, we knew old drivers were left behind, and we felt AV was causing a problem.

    Hi Guys

We downgraded the client versions & all ok now - I just hope the bugs are fixed before our users "helpfully" decide to upgrade themselves.

    Cheers
