Loss of network connection after installing Security Update 2007-005

Just as an FYI for others, I'm running Build 3188 licensed on a MB Pro with 2gb RAM and I lost my Shared networking this morning after updating to Security Update 2007-005. I reinstalled 3188 and everything is working as before. I'm not sure what happens during an Apple OS X update but this is the second time I've had to use this fix.

Before reinstalling, have you already tried Disk Utility (Repair Disk Permissions, Repair Disk), rebooting the Mac OS, emptying caches and running DiskWarrior?

I just had the same problem again. I used your advice and repaired the disk permissions - worked like a champ. Thanks for the suggestion.
