M Macos10 Bit poster Feb 8, 2012 #2 I can only assume by the silence that these forums are NOT the place to come for Parallels help. I eventually discovered how to resolve this within the settings. Many thanks for all your non assistance

C CorbinH Bit poster Feb 8, 2012 #3 I think you're right. I'm going to make one last ditch effort and call Parallels tech support which wasn't helpful the first time. If no luck with that, then I guess I'll have to throw my $120+ investment in the trash and switch to VMWare.

M mmika Pro Feb 8, 2012 #4 What kind of support you want? This is known behaviour. Just disconnect your DVD drive from virtual machine you are running. Similar question was posted on this forum month ago. http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=210321
