Mac trackpad gesture sensitivity

Hi Mike,
I was only just poundernig about buying one of these Magic Trackpads.. My first question to the forum was does it work in a Parallels VM environment. It seems like it works ok and that the VM see's the Bluetooth connection via the MAc side. However given the sensitivity issues you have registered would you not recommend the Magic Trackpad in a windows 7 environment?

I wouldn't go so far to say "not recommended". It works fine in all the respects you mention, it just tends to scroll very fast compared to how it feels on the Mac native side. If you use a very light, short two finger scroll move it is usable. You just have to get used to it.
Cursor movement is fine, click (tap) sensitivity is fine, it respects the two finger tap as a right click... Pinch/Zoom works in some applications and some not (and that is true on the Mac side as well). The three finger swipe to navigate is one of the newer trackpad software features and doesn't appear to be implemented in Parallels yet, but that's no surprise.
I think the trackpad is implemented fairly well. It could just benefit from some tweaks in Parallels.

Many thanks for the feedback, this is very helpful. One last question if I may.. How long do the batteries last on average before needing to charge them again?

I've had it for about a month and the trackpad preferences report 92% battery left. So I'd estimate it will run 8-10 months from fresh batteries. Mine are just regular alkaline AAs, not rechargeables. It is pretty good at sleeping when its not being used.
That being said, I am not power-using it. This last month most of my work has been on laptops, not on the iMac. But I do use the iMac as "home base" and use it at least a half hour a day.
