iOS is not the operating system your macbook is running.
if you need to see files that are on your macbook turn on sharing
Configure -> Options -> Sharing -> Share Mac
select a value for share folders:
Home folder only will only show the files that reside within your user folder on your mac
All Disks will show all files on all hard drives on your mac
None will show no files from your mac
you can also enable shared user folders, so that your Documents folder on the mac is your My Documents folder on windows, Pictures folder is the My Pictures folder on window, etc. the folders are essentially merged, so you're writing to and reading from a shared location.
