Hi all !
I got the same issue as was mentioned before in this forum, but I didn't find any solution for it, so I request again for help.
When I run Windows XP in Parallels the CD/DVD-drive of my MBP works only very slow or stops working at all. In OS X all CDs/DVDs can be read without any problem. I didn't even manage to install XP directly from the CD, I had to made an ISO-Image to perform the install. Installation of the Parallels-Tools under XP didn't help with that issue.
Also I found several entries in the system.log at each boot of OS X:
localhost kernel[0]: ParallelsConnectUSB(0x4eeb880)::start() Control service not started!
Maybe this error-message is connected with the CD/DVD-Rom issue.
The funny thing is, I got the exact installation of all programs on my big Intel Dual-Core XEON Mac. All versions of operating system and software are identical and it works without any problem. Neither the bootup error message is logged, nor any problems with the CD-drive appear.
Technical Data:
Hadware:
- MacBook Pro 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (2 weeks old)
3 GB 677 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857D
Software:
- Mac OS X 10.4.9 (8P2137) (up-to-date)
- Parallels Desktop for Mac - Build 3186 - German Localization
- Windows XP Pro SP 2 (up-to-date)
I hope you can help me fixing the problem with Parallels.
Thank you in advance.
Michael
