Major Problem launching parallels away from home

I installed WD My Cloud and am using time machine with my computer - but now when I am away from home (the wd hard drive) - I can not start windows.... (parallels) it keeps looking for the WD hard drive perpetually.... I turned off time machine and that is not helping...

Please help,

Could you please let us know if you receive any particular error message when you try to open your Windows virtual machine.
