Mapped Drive Names Changing !

I've mapped several drives in XP (under build 1940) to various folders in the shared folder (docs, pictures etc) and renamed them in XP appropraitely:

d: = Docs
P: = Pictures
M: = Mail

but for some reason all the names keep changing and I haven't been able to figure out a pattern, as of now ALL the drives are called Mail in XP, maybe because that's the last drive I accessed?

Anyone else noticed this?
 
I seem to have the same problem with shared folders, mapped as drives, all taking on the same name in windows.
