mapping DVD drive

Trying to install Quicken 2015 from DVD, but windows is unable to "open disk1/setup.exe'. Quicken FAQs states that the reason is the DVD drive is not mapped to windows. quicken instructions state that I needed to go to parallells/devices and connect to the drive (which does show as being disconnected). However, Parallels will not allow me to connect to the drive. Says it is in use and stops the process. This occurs whether my VM (Windows 7) is running or not.
What am I doing wrong?
I am arraigning the latest version of Parallels on with the latest versions of Yosemite.

I'm sorry for not responding sooner, I've been sick then away. I have not had a chance to try the procedures yet but hope to do so in the next day or so.
