I've seen many posts about memory being over utilised by Parallels VM's but I seem to have the opposite. I am using the latest pro version of Parallels with Windows 11 Pro ARM. I use this for the majority of my work so at the time i'm running it I am not using other applications on my Mac. As such I have assigned 24 out of 64GB RAM to the VM. I also tried this with 16GB and 32GB, the results were the same.
However I have observed over the last few days that the VM is not utilising anywhere close to the Memory you would expect. Indeed when I am in a teams call the memory usage is the same as when I am not and the effect is annoying crackling on teams calls on my end.
I have attached two screenshots, as you can see Memory usage is the same in both cases, parallels seems incapable of managing memory properly and it seems like a complete waste of time going over 12GB of RAM
