Mouse problems with game on Win7 (5k iMac Yosemite)

Hi,
i'm having problems playing games on my parallels win7 installation. iIwant to play an old game called Empire Earth. Whenever i start it the mouse cursor is way to fast.

i tried the "optimize mouse for games" in parallels config. -> no change
i tried changing the cursor speed in the win7 system prefs. -> no change
i tried changing resolution -> no change

what else can i try? i only have 2 games to test it on. Empire Earth and Heroes of Might and Magic 3 HD. The second game is playable but the mouse still does lag a tiny bit

Does Empire have a setting for hardware mouse cursor acceleration or anything like that?

Also, for old games you don't want to optimize mouse for games. You want to disable that.
