I currently run Parallels6 on my Mac and as I wish to update the OS x system on the Mac I need to upgrade the Parallels version to work with existing Windows software ie Sage Accounting, Office etc. As I cannot do a straight upgrade from P6 to P9 do I need to remove P6 before I install a full version of P9

Please remove Parallels Desktop 6 from your Mac as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/9087 and then download and install Parallels Desktop 9 on your Mac http://kb.parallels.com/116989
Note : Windows Virtual Machine files will not be affected by removing Parallels Desktop 6 from your Mac. You can use the same Windows Virtual Machine on Parallels Desktop 9.
