Moving parallels 12 (pro) from my old Mac to my new machine

I have tried moving parallels 12 (pro) from my old Mac to my new machine, using the process published in the knowledge base however, when i try and activate with my key from my account i am asked to enter the original key as its an upgrade key. when i enter the original key Desktop 8 i am advised that the license server doesn't accept the original key. i have been in this upgrade program for a while now and upgraded yearly as part of the plan.

Any ideas i can get my current version activated on my new machine?
