Multi channel audio from Parallels: DOES NOT WORK (support not replying)

Hello everyone,

anyone succeeded having multi channel audio going out from Parallels to multi channel audio interface on Mac (correctly working and configured)?

I followed and double checked the Parallels help about this: http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v7/update2/docs/en/Parallels Desktop User's Guide/34234.htm

But it just does not work. I also verified using same 5.1 flac in VLC on the Mac (host) and it works and I get 6 channels out. Same file in VLC in Parallels (9 or 10) after configuring all like instructions, there are always 2 channels no matter what. And the same with other software that should output 6 channels.

I sent a ticket 2052885 two days ago and still no reply, I suppose they have no idea or never really teated this feature...they just added some channels to the audio driver without any testing? Anyone having multi channel working? On Mac I use a Sapphire 24 DSP connected via firewire.

It seems not many know that on Windows there are audiophile players able to decode most audio discs/formats and how useful it is using Parallels for that as well.

Anyway solution is using and configuring properly VB-Audio software...incredible virtual cable software, works like a treat, is donationware: http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Voicemeeter/banana.htm

Using that I can now assign Windows 5.1 audio to the VB-Audio virtual interface, and patch this one to the single channels of the Parallels audio driver, that just passes the channels to my Mac multichannel audio interface.

Without that the normal Parallels Audio interface even if it has 8 channels (theoretically) and it passes them correctly to Mac, it misses something and even configured as 5.1 speakers configuration, it always outputs 2 channels only, unless another specific driver (Asio4all from a DAW or VB-Audio virtual cables) is used as virtual interface/audio driver between Windows and the virtual Parallels audio.
