Hi,
I have a published application in which users must register patient data in a hospital counter. For every patient, several print jobs are created; one for an A5 page for a receipt, another for an A4 page for an internal document, and another for barcode labels on a Zebra label printer.
I'm using standard TS printer redirection, but it has several problems - the first one being that mapped printers take a long time to become available after logon.
I'd like to give Universal Printing a try, but I'm not sure if it will be practical - it's really cumbersome for users having to select 3 different printers for each patient. And, of course, I can't select a specific printer on the 2X client.
The perfect solution, I suppose, would be to have several 2X Universal Printers on the server, and to be able to redirect each one to a specific printer on the 2X client configuration. I know this isn't possible, but you get the general idea; for certain kinds of users, selecting a printer in a dialog box can be a challenge.
Any suggestions on how I could use the 2X universal printer in such a scenario? And, by the way... is there any way to delay application start until all TS printer mapping is done?
Thanks!
