music playback problems with vista

hi

i have just installed windows vista ultimate in parallels build 3186 and while everything else seems to be working fine, music playback is freezing/juddering, regardless of media format and media player. i have installed parallels tools, but wonder if there is something other setting i need to change to get this working properly. i have allocated 800MB of RAM to the parallels installation

if you'd done a search of these forums, you'd find this is a known problem. there is no work around as yet.
 
i did search the forum, putting in keywords such as 'vista' and 'music' but didn't turn anything up. any idea how long this might take to get sorted?
