Need SmartSelect help

I'm trying to get windows files to open in the corresponding apps on my mac. I set up the smart select associations correctly. However, when click on a windows file it tries to open on the mac, but all it does is bring the targeted mac application to the front. It doesn't actually open the file i clicked.

Can anyone help?
 
Anyone able to help?

I've tried toggling smartselect off and on. Restarting the Guest OS and a few other procedures. Nothing has yielded results. I know this was working at some point, but appears to be broken now.
 
I'm having the same issue.

Opening a file in Windows launches the correct application in OSX but never actually opens the file.

Tried disabling app sharing, rebooting, re-enabling, rebooting.
Tried reinstalling Tools
