Need to expand D: Drive. . . How?

I have Parallels 8 on my Late 2011 MacBook Pro.
I have Vista Home Premium loaded. It shows my "System Reserved D:" drive has 309 of 349 MB free.
I want to upgrade to Vista Business. When I try to do this, I get the following message:

"The system partition (D:) does not have enough free space. Windows installation needs at least 392 megabytes (MB) of space on this partition. To install Windows, free enough space and restart the installation.

Error code: 0x80070070"

Since the D: partition only has 349 MB, and I need 392 MB, I cannot possibly "free enough space." How do I increase the partition size?
 
From what I can tell, I am supposed to use Acronis Disk Director 11. So I downloaded it. But I cannot use it until I enter the product license key number. It gives me a link to get the number. I click on the link, and I go to a Parallels page that tells me I have not registered my Parallels program.

So I try to register my Parallels program. I enter the key number from the email I received. It does nothing. After entering the number, I click on the register button, but the number I just typed in disappears. That is it.

So I can't register my Parallels product, which means...
I can't get an Acronis Disk Director key number, which means...
I can't use Acrnois Disk Director, which means...
I can't increase the size of my D: Drive partition, which means...
I can't install Vista Business, which means...
I can't install Windows 8 Pro.

At this point, all I have gotten for the several hundred dollars I just spent is one smart ass comment from a "product expert."
 
I just got an email from Parallels. It says:

"Dear RH1 ,

You or somebody else had tried to register key for Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac. This key is already registered."



So I again tried to get the "Acronis Disk Director License." When I click on the link, I still am told "You have not registered Paralles (sic) Desktop for Mac Licenses. Please register you (sic) licenses here"

This is too rich.

To see the product that you have registered and their registration information, support ticket information etc. Please go to http://parallels.com/account/home.
If you are not already logged in, log in with your forum information.
Look under My Registered Products for your Parallels Desktop licenses key information.
If you wish to see your support options, look under MY Support Options.

I may be missing something, but that link tells me how to partition my C: drive, which is not what I am trying to do. I am trying to increase the D: partition. As I said in the opening post, the D: drive is 349 MB. My C: drive partition currently is fixed at 18 GB. It previously was expanding at 64GB, and fixed at 96 GB. No matter what I do to the C: partition, the D: partition stays at 349 MB.

When I go there, I see my product key with the message "(en, permanent, registered 2013-03-04)", so I know my product is registered. Yet, when I try to use Acronis Director 11, I am told to click on a link to get the product serial number. When I click on the link, I am taken to the parallels web site, where I am told the product is not registered.
 
Hi RH1,

Did you originally create the partition in windows?
You have to increase the size of the drive from within windows.

Please look at the bottom of this article.
Edit:
This information is given with the understanding that you created a partition in your C drive that you named D.
If this is not the case please disregard this post, and explain where the D drive came from.

Also once in disk management please look under help menu>extend a basic volume.
